Relieve Back Pain
When it comes to back pain, consider a three-dimensional approach.
Step 1: Treatment
Stay cool – Apply ice for 5 or 10 minutes in the first 48 hours.
Warm up – Use hot compresses or take hot showers in the following 48 hours to alleviate the pain.
Rest + relief – Take a pain reliever, such as NOTTS Extra Strength (use as directed), and avoid vigorous exercise.
Step 2: Prevention
Sleep better
Choose a firm mattress and sleep with a pillow between your knees (if you sleep on your side) or under your knees (if you sleep on your back).
Stand up
Relax your knees, pull your shoulders back, and keep moving. Posture is everything!
Step 3: Stretching
Stand with your hands on the lower back. Lean slightly backward, towards your hands, slowly and carefully. Hold the position for a few seconds, then straighten up. Repeat the exercise several times.
Stretches for back pain
Lie on your back with your knees bent. Place your hands around the left knee and bring it close to your chest. Hold this position for a few seconds and return to the original position. Repeat this exercise with the right knee. Then repeat the exercise by bringing both knees towards the chest and holding this position for several seconds.
